The Information systems manager is responsible for continuously delivering, maintaining, and optimising of applications, databases, and middleware capabilities to enable the development of new modules, enhancements, and solutions. The role involves real-time monitoring, maintaining, and supporting the operational capacity, availability, and performance of solutions against SLAs.
Job Description

- Information Technology Planning Participates in short and long-term planning sessions with top management to improve business processes. - System Needs Management Leads the translation of business requirements into technical requirements. - System Improvements and Evaluations • Oversees system analysis, design, and configuration. • Oversee the development of systems to improve business results. • Lead the evaluation, selection and application of new and emerging tools and techniques. - Information System Management • Implementation of new systems or enhancements. • Supervise the testing process to ensure that desired business results are achieved. • Ensure documentation of system modifications. • Ensure development of system manuals. • Provide input for and review training materials. • Review and ensure that documentation is complete and accurate. - Operational Planning • Provide input into the formulation and development of plans for the unit in consultation with the CIO and the business users - Risk Management and Financial Management • Identify and manage risks in area of responsibility.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from university or post graduate program qualification in Information Technology or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years related experience in IT, NQF level 7. Five (5) years in software development life cycle management At least two (2) years leading a team in application solutions and/or system maintenance.
