- Information Technology Planning Participates in short and long-term planning sessions with top management to improve business processes. - System Needs Management Leads the translation of business requirements into technical requirements. - System Improvements and Evaluations • Oversees system analysis, design, and configuration. • Oversee the development of systems to improve business results. • Lead the evaluation, selection and application of new and emerging tools and techniques. - Information System Management • Implementation of new systems or enhancements. • Supervise the testing process to ensure that desired business results are achieved. • Ensure documentation of system modifications. • Ensure development of system manuals. • Provide input for and review training materials. • Review and ensure that documentation is complete and accurate. - Operational Planning • Provide input into the formulation and development of plans for the unit in consultation with the CIO and the business users - Risk Management and Financial Management • Identify and manage risks in area of responsibility.
Bachelor’s degree from university or post graduate program qualification in Information Technology or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years related experience in IT, NQF level 7. Five (5) years in software development life cycle management At least two (2) years leading a team in application solutions and/or system maintenance.
